About Camp Li-Wa

 
 

Camp Li-Wa which stands for Living Water is located just outside of Fairbanks. Li-Wa offers year round activities which include: summer camp for all ages of kids, retreat and conference center, horse riding lessons, and more.

Our camps are hugely popular, so never hesitate to sign up early to ensure you spot at camp this summer. For a lifetime of memories and a strong relationship with our Lord and God.

Camp Li-Wa (Living Water) was started in 1959 and was operated as part of the Denali Bible Church in Fairbanks for 25 years mainly as a summer camp. Wycliff also had a missionary here. Camp Li-Wa was turned over to InterAct Ministries (Victory's parent organization) and then to Victory Ministries.

Camp Li-Wa runs eight weeks of summer camp. It is also a fall, winter, and spring retreat and conference center for churches and organizations in the area and has a heated riding arena to minister to the needs of the Fairbanks community. Camp Li-Wa is located just five miles from Fairbanks and ministers in that area and many other parts of the Interior of Alaska.

Our Team

Jared and Jessica Wardle

The Wardle's moved to Camp Li-Wa in December of 2014. Jared is serving as Camp Director. Jared and Jessica have been married since 2009. They currently have four children Joel, Hannah, Hope and Hezekiah. They are expecting their fifth child in March 2017. Jared was an Associate/Administrative Pastor in Washington State before moving to Fairbanks. Jared attended Seminary at Corban University School of Ministry, and has served in a variety of ministry positions. Jessica graduated from University of Houston with her master's degree in Piano Performance. She has a varied background in both voice and piano, including teaching piano and voice to a variety of students, and performing for many occasions.

Bethany Flynn

Bethany is the Horsemanship Director for Camp Li-Wa. She takes care of the horses and runs all the horsemanship programs throughout the year. She is originally from Fairbanks. She spent 5 years living in North Carolina where she went to school and worked as a Paramedic before moving back to Alaska to join Victory Ministries. Bethany loves the outdoors and using horses to teach kids about Christ.

Mark & Jo Hibma

Mark works in the vehicle and barn maintenance department and Jo is the office manager, registrar, and helps with the housekeeping for Camp Li-Wa. Their oldest son, Nate, is married to Liz and live in the Fairbanks area. Jarod, their younger son is in high school at Lathrop. The family came to Li-Wa for the summer of 2008. They returned permanently in July of 2009. The Hibmas are originally from Michigan. They love the fact that God is using them and their gifts in a way to spread His word.

Ashley Knowlton

Ashley has been serving at Camp Li-Wa in the horse program since 2014. She loves serving with the horse program. Ashley's passion is using the horses to point people to Christ.She Grew up in Wasilla and enjoyed attending camp at Victory Ministries. Ashley graduated from UAF with her AA. She currently serves as Herd manager/Head Wrangler.

Dave & Chris Goff

Dave and Chris Goff came to Camp Li-Wa in 2008. The couple are formerly from Wisconsin where Chris worked in the camping industry for 30 years and Dave worked in engineering. Dave is Finance Director of Victory Ministries of AK and Chris is the primary cook and helps with housekeeping. Both of them love to hike and read.
