Camp Li-Wa
Why camp?

Best of 2010!

  • Camp Li-Wa saw a lot of change this past year.  If you take a look around you will see that there is a new board walk going around both sides of the lake.  There is about ½ mile of board walk to be exact.  This gives the campers and groups that come out a place to walk in the boggy area without getting their feet wet and muddy, plus a great way to get out and pray in this beautiful place.
  • At the end of summer we saw a very nice looking log cabin go up on the girl’s side of camp.  This log cabin is to replace the old run down cabins that stand there now.  The new cabin can  hold more people and can be used in the winter since it has a nice pellet stove in it.  You can expect to see more of these types of cabins to come up more in the future.
  • This summer we saw more campers and summer staff than we have in a long time.  This is very exciting to us to see God moving in a big way here.
  • We also got the awesome privilege to see about 70s students come to know Christ and 100s more rededicate their lives to Christ.

Best memories

  • One of our favorite memories is when Kassey Loony came down the hill and said “I have five new baby sisters in Christ.”  That is what we are all about.
  • On a summer day a nice young bull moose was walking through camp one day. And none other than Collin Amick talking on his phone was totally shocked by the moose running by him while all the other camp staff was watching the moose far off but wondering why Collin was getting so close.
  • “ I’m going to finish my meat balls”

 Just another post

  • A brand new camp is being offered at Li-Wa this year and it is Wilderness camp!!  This camp will be hiking, kayaking down Chena River and backpacking Granite Tors. We will be on this big adventure for 4 days.  This camp is only for boy’s 10th – 12th grade.  Sign up now, we only have 3 spots left.
